DESCRIPTION: Up to 20mm. A native to North America that was introduced to Europe in 1999. This beautiful looking creature is easily identified by its size, richly coloured markings and expanded hind tibia. BEHAVIOUR: A busy creature always on the move except when on foodplant or basking in the sun. DISTRIBUTION: Widespread throughout and spreading. HABITAT: Pine woods and plantations but frequently seen around southern coasts. PERIOD: All year. |
